A Healing Legacy

Since 2014, Glia has inspired the world with the creation of open-source medical equipment- designed, manufactured, researched, and published with complete transparency. This open source philosophy has transcended access barriers to medical care and democratized resource capacity by empowering local manufacturing, even in low-resource settings. Glia’s belief that everyone deserves high-quality medical care has created a community of humanitarians dedicated to improving the world with incredibly compounding effects.

Stethoscope

Glia created the world’s first open-source, fully validated stethoscope, which has allowed more hearts to be heard all over the world.

Tourniquet

Fully open-source and field-tested, the Glia tourniquet has been saving lives and limbs since 2018.

Kidney-CAP

In 2022, Glia debuted the Kidney-CAP, the world’s first open-source device specifically designed to control arteriovenous fistula and graft (AVF/AVG) hemorrhage — a potentially fatal emergency event.

The Glia Kidney-CAP can attach to a keychain or bracelet so it’s always at hand- 2023
